Vans up to 7.5 tonne gross vehicle weight (GVW) have speed limits of, 70mph on motorways, 60mph on dual carriageways and 50mph other roads.

The VIN plate will contain figures for gross vehicle weight (GVW), individual axle weights and maximum train weight. As a rule of thumb the lowest figure will be for the front axle, the next figure up will be rear axle, next will be GVW and the highest figure will be train weight. This can usually be found in the passenger door aperture.

FWD allows for a higher pay load, lower loading height, often higher internal height and better fuel economy.

RWD often has a higher rated rear axle weight, is a better option for frequent heavy towing and has better traction when heavily laden on slippery surfaces and inclines.

Up to 3500kg/3.5tonne gross vehicle weight (GVW).

Any vehicle up to and including 7200kg / 7.2 tonne gross vehicle weight (GVW).

A minibus is a motor vehicle that has been constructed to carry more than 8 but not more than 16 people in addition to the driver.

Up to 8 passengers is classed as a car or multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). Beyond 16 seats, it is deemed to be a coach or small bus.

You need a D1 on your licence to drive a minibus. 

The category B entitlement allows you to drive a 9 to 16 seat minibus only under a Section 19 permit (non-profitable organisations).
