Vehicle support requests and care

Taking your vehicle abroad

Please request these from us at least two weeks before you go by calling our European travel line on 01564 701 118. Lines are open 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday. Or you can do this online

When you call or request these online, we’ll ask for the following information:

  • Your registration number
  • Exact dates the car will be out of the country
  • Countries you’re planning to visit

We’ll send you the following documents:

  • A VE103a certificate that allows you to drive your Lex Autolease vehicle outside of the UK
  • A letter from us authorising you to take the vehicle outside of the UK
  • If you have a maintenance package with us, we’ll also give you details of our breakdown service in Europe.

You’ll need to pay for any maintenance needed on your vehicle while you’re out of the country.

If you have a maintenance package with us, we may refund your costs. We'll cover up to the amount that the repairs would have cost if you'd done them in the UK.

We'll need receipts and translated invoices within 28 days after you incur costs.

We recommend taking a touring kit of spare parts when you're travelling overseas. A warning triangle and a first aid kit are also important. Many countries need these items.

To find out more about what’s needed in the country or countries you're visiting, please call our travel line.

Adding a personalised number plate

If you want to add your number plate to a lease vehicle or remove it from one, we can help.

If you want to add a personalised number plate to an existing Lex vehicle, contact the cherished plates team on 0344 824 0706 or email us

Lex will write to you explaining the process and email all the necessary declaration and DVLA forms along with the detailed processes.

Lex can deliver the vehicle from the dealer with the new plate right from the start. For this to happen email the cherished new order team as soon as your order is confirmed.

If you want to move a personalised plate from a fleet vehicle at the end of its lease, contact us six weeks before the end of the lease to arrange this. You can call us on 0344 824 0706 or email us

I think my car has been stolen

If you think someone’s stolen your car, the first thing to do is call the police and report the theft. You can do this by dialling 101.

Please give the registration number, make, model and colour of the vehicle. They’ll give you a crime reference number.

You should then report the theft to your insurance company, or to FMG if you are a company car driver with our accident services cover.

If the police don’t recover the car by a certain time, we'll begin the process for total loss or write-off.
